Clive is the lead male part with several solos.

Description: Jerry is the Undertaker’s assistant and coffin maker and is the quintessential man on the make. He takes pity on Clive and introduces him to London, to the undertaking business ant to Isabella. He’s an optimistic chap who happily sings to Clive about his life in the song I’ve Got It Made. An accomplished ladies man, and part-time boyfriend to Milly, he eventually meets his match when he tries to woo Death herself.

The Alchemist

Description: A druid leader and father to the beautiful Isabella, the Alchemist is the life-long enemy of the Undertaker. He sets about destroying the Undertaker once and for all in the song The Elixir Of Life. Constantly ignorant to events around him he is wrongly accused of starting the plague by the Lord Mayor and must, in the end, resort to working with the undertakers to eliminate the true criminals.

The Undertaker / Mike The Barman

Full Name: Phil Anbury (The Undertaker) / Mike The Barman

Description: The Undertaker, Phil Anbury, has been doing his trade for a long time. He’s a bit of a grouch and is set in his ways, but he is a good teacher and trains Clive well in the song Coffin Of Your Past. He is the Alchemist’s arch-enemy and the keeper of a dark secret that could destroy all of London.

Mike is the barman of The Lousy Duck who has a somewhat disturbing obsession for The Pied Piper. He is a lead singer in Pay The Piper.

Beggar Leader / The Pied Piper

Full Name: Beggar Leader / The Pied Piper

Description: The beggar leader is a sharp operator; just a hint of money and he pops out from some nook or cranny asking for it. He is the leader of a group of London Beggars who befriend Clive in the song Spend A Penny and are instrumental to the plague being cured.

The Pied Piper is one of the biggest heart-throbs in Europe. A celebrity in his own right, he is the heroic nemesis of all rat-kind, and a damn fine musician to boot. The ultimate macho stereotype, he promises to defeat the rats and save London in the song Pay The Piper... before failing miserably in the next scene.

The Rat King

Description: The Rat King is the furry Godfather of rat kind. He lives in the sewers of London with his henchmen, Pinky and Scratchfella, and the rest of their species. Thanks to the arcane experimentations of the Alchemist, these creatures have evolved into humanoid gangsters who now want to end the reign of mankind once and for all. Tricking Clive to assist them in the song Man And Rat, the Rat King unleashes the Great Plague to bring about this goal.

Scratchfella / The Lord Mayor

Description: Scratchfella is the Italian American henchman of the nefarious Rat King. He is an imposing figure who has one talent – killing things. With fellow henchman Pinky, he persuades Clive to visit the Rat King in the song The Rat King, beginning the chain of events that leads to the plague hitting London.

The Lord Mayor is a shrewd and disingenuous politician who, unable to find a cure for the Plague, finds London a scapegoat in the song Someone To Blame.
