Description: Isabella is the beautiful daughter of the evil Alchemist. Despite her father disapproving of her dating, she allows herself to be wooed by Clive in the song Never Felt Like This Before and love soon blossoms. Her previous relationship with the Pied Piper incites Clive to jealousy, and the arguments that ensue, not to mention the outbreak of Plague, tear the lovers asunder. Clive and Isabella only rekindle their affections on her deathbed in the song You’re Here.

She’s stubborn and hardy, and tries to reconcile the lovers after their split. She also helps fight the rats in the finale scenes.

The Crone is one of the plague victims who sings about the outbreak of disease during the song It’s Bubonic.

Death

Full Name: Death

Appearance: Tall and classically beautiful
Voice: Alto/Mezzo
Description: Death appears early on in the play in the time-honoured vision of a hooded skeleton with scythe. However, when the plague begins, Death moves to confront the cause, Clive Hucklefish, and reveals herself to be a beautiful woman with a German accent. She is now thoroughly overworked, and demands that Clive rights his wrong. She is then hit on by Jerry, who she rebuts. She returns after Isabella dies in the song You're Here and in a solo grants the lovers a reprieve and returns Isabella to life. At the end of the play, she finally succumbs to Jerry’s dubious charms.

Description: Pinky is the Italian American henchman of the nefarious Rat King: she has the brains and fellow henchman Scratchfella has the braun. Together, they persuade Clive to visit the Rat King in the song The Rat King and begin the chain of events that leads to Plague hitting London.

Tommy Tinkle is the first person Clive meets in London and dances balletically during the song Never Felt Like This Before.
