David Massingham - Musical Director, Writer
David
has been involved in the performing arts since his childhood when he
attended both Bristol Stage School and the HTV drama workshop. During
this period he took part in many amateur productions (both plays and
musicals) as well as several professional tours of Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. At college, David co-wrote, directed
and acted in a new comedy musical: Dick Warren : Private Investigator.
David has also played the piano and occasionally written songs for many
bands, including a soul band, a jazz orchestra and a spoof boy-band.At Exeter University, David returned to the stage performing in productions including Singin’ In The Rain, Me And My Girl (Gerald) and Our Country’s Good (Sideway/Collins). It was while performing at Exeter University that David met Matt Townend and Plague! The Musical was born. David currently works for an investment bank in London but is continuing to engage in his love of theatre with recent performances in The Pirates Of Penzance, Bethlehem and Ruddigore (Old Adam) with the New London Opera Group. He has also had the opportunity to perform at the Old Vic in two "corporate pantomimes" and has recently performed in The Kitchen with Network Theatre whilst preparing for the 2008 production of Plague! |
